Romania's Defence minister, about reservists' activation: We are not in such a situation
Mihai DraghiciRomania's National Defence minister, Vasile Dîncu, has said on Wednesday that the activation of the reservists has not been discussed. The statements were made before the meeting of the Supreme Council of National Defence during which the crisis in Ukraine will be discussed.
Minister Vasile Dîncu claims that thousands of reservists are summoned every year for checking the documents.
"The activation of the reservists is done every year, by rotation, it is a form of verification that we do. Every year there are several thousand reservists who receive orders and this is the way to make a kind of inventory", has said the Defence minister Vasile Dîncu.
The authorities have not discussed the activation of reservists amid the Ukraine crisis. "In no case has been the activation of the reservists discussed at this time, we are not in such a situation", the National Defence minister added.
Minister Vasile Dîncu participated on Wednesday in the self-assessment meeting of the activity of the National Institute for Medical-Military Research-Development "Cantacuzino" for 2021.
