Coronavirus and vaccines
- Vaccination in Romania: In the last 24 hours, more than 58.000 people got vaccinated. Totally, more than 5.8 million people got the vaccine, with more than 5.5 getting both doses and 412.000 of them getting the third one.
- Coronavirus in Romania: In the last 24 hours, there were recorded 16.743 new SARS CoV-2 cases, 442 deaths, and in ICU there are now 1.667 people hospitalized.
Global political and military events
- The EU will give a firm response to Poland. EU Foreign Minister Josep Borrell said on Tuesday that the European Union would give a firm response to the decision of Poland's Constitutional Court, which denied the prevalence of European law over national law, and called on Warsaw to abide by EU bloc rules. - The United States welcomes the appointment of the new Tunisian government. The United States on Tuesday welcomed the appointment of a new government in Tunisia, saying it was a necessary step in restoring constitutional order following President Kais Saied's coup. (AFP).
- The EU will help Afghanistan with 1 billion euros. Following a video conference of G20 leaders, Afghanistan's financial aid was established. The European Union has pledged 1 billion euros to participate. (The Guardian)

- Havana Syndrome affects American diplomats in Colombia. Five families whose members worked at the US Embassy in Colombia suffered from Havana Syndrome immediately after Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's visit. The same phenomenon happened in Vietnam, in August, after the American vice-president Kamala Harris was in this country. (AP)
- Prometheus' first S-500 missile regiment defends Moscow. The capital of Russia is defended by the newest anti-aircraft system, S-500 Prometheus, which has just entered the equipment of the 15th Aerospace Army. (Tass)
Romania's defense and security
- President Iohannis participates in the International Holocaust Remembrance Forum. On Wednesday, President Klaus Iohannis will participate, at the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Sweden, Stefan Lofven, to the International Forum dedicated to the commemoration of the Holocaust and the fight against anti-Semitism, organized in Malmo. - The appointed prime minister meets with leaders from PNL and UDMR. Prime Minister-designate Dacian Ciolos will hold talks on Wednesday with leaders of the PNL, UDMR and national minorities for a first round to form a parliamentary majority. (Aleph News)
- Ludovic Orban resigns from the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies. Ludovic Orban announced that he will resign, on Wednesday, at 12.00, from the position of president of the Chamber of Deputies. (Agerpres)
- Trade unionists from the Environmental Guard are threatening protests. The trade unionists consider that the salary inequities seriously affect not only the interests of the employees of the institution, but also their activity in fulfilling the inspection and control attributions. (Mediafax)
