Coronavirus and vaccines
- There were registered more than 100 million COVID-19 cases. Each 7,7 seconds someone is getting infected with the new coronavirus. The COVID-19 pandemic reached 100 million cases, says Mediafax. It lasted 11 months to record the first 50 million pandemic cases, comparing to only three months to get that number doubled and get to 100 million. More than 50 countries have started to vaccinate their citizens against the coronavirus, only 64 million doses being administrated. Israel is the leading country when it comes to vaccination per inhabitant, as around 29% of its citizens got at least the first dose.
- The restrictions’ installation procedures are being changed. The government is working on an algorithm on the development of the COVID-19 epidemic which will consider different parameters than the simple rate of the SARS CoV-2 cases per county, said on Tuesday doctor Calin Alexandru, the director from the Emergency Situations Department, according to Agerpress.
Global political and military events
- NATO is organizing a summit for president Biden. The Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, has announced on Tuesday that he talked on the phone with the US president, Joe Biden, to plan the Alliance’s summit and make a report on the many further challenges. The date of the reunion depends on the pandemic’s development.
- Mali is eliminating the terrorists. More than 100 terrorists were killed in Mali, on Tuesday, in an operation of the French and governmental special operations forces, says AFP.
- Israel is remaking the attack plans against Iran. The Chief of the Defence Staff, general lieutenant Aviv Kohavi, has stated, at the International Conference of the National Institute for Security Studies in Israel that the military is planning a series of additional plans to fight Iran. He accused Iran for developing nuclear weapons, for the ballistic program and supporting the terrorists in the occupied territories and the neighboring countries of Israel.

- Ceremonies on the International Day of the Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust. Ceremonies are held today to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust. Eight decades ago, the biggest genocide of all times was starting, six millions of people suffering due to the cruelty of the Nazi regime, during the World War II.
- The Ministry of Home Affairs lacks money. The Minister of Home Affairs, Lucian Bode, has stated, Tuesday night, that the minister needs European nonrefundable money to provide the budget and give the policemen the class specialist incentive, says Agerpress.
