Coronavirus and vaccines

  • Vaccination in Romania: In the last 24 hours, more than 11.000 people got vaccinated. Totally, more than 8,08 million people got the vaccine, with more than 8,01 getting both doses and 2,45 of them getting the third dose. (Press release)
  • Coronavirus in Romania: In the last 24 hours, there were recorded 36.269 SARS CoV-2 cases, 184 deaths, and in ICU there are now 1.123 people hospitalized. (Press release)

Global political and military events

  • Germany, France and Poland (Weimar Triangle) support Ukraine’s sovereignty. Germany’s chancellor, Olaf Scholz, and the president of Poland and France, Andrzej Duda and Emmanuel Macron, have asked, during the meeting that took place Tuesday evening in Berlin, for the continuation of the diplomatic efforts in the relation with Russia, to avoid a military conflict in Europe.   • Russia is starting military drills in the Black Sea and the Southern Military Region.   • The European banks are preparing for a Russian cyber attack. The European Central Bank is preparing the banks from the member states to face a massive cyber attack from Russia, given the tensions at Ukraine’s border. (Reuters)

Romania’s security and defence

  • Gas got 5 times more expensive, and electricity 4 times in one year.
