Minister Mihai Fifor, on 4th of July: We really appreciate the commitment of the United States of America in the region, materialized through the strong military presence in Romania

Romania appreciates the “continuous and strong commitment of the United States of America in the region, from the political commitment to military, materialized through a strong military presence and an intense program of common united exercises”, declared on Wednesday Mihai Fifor, the Minister of Defence, quoted on a message for the Independence Day, the national festivity of America.

“We really appreciate the commitment of the United States of America in the region, materialized through the strong military presence in Romania and an intense program of common united exercises. In a regional and international security context, with complex risks and treats, the tradition of the diplomatic Romanian-American relations and the friendship between the two nations offers us today the assurance and the premises of a strong collaboration in the future.”

Fifor underlines that the “strategically valences” of the Romanian-American partnership are also illustrated in the “cooperation projects already materialized, that gives substance to the special relation based on trust, between our armies: operating the anti-racket facility from Deveselu, developing the multi-type base transport from Mihail Kogalniceanu, reinforce the Special Forces of the Romanian Army and other things that are developing at the moment”.

Romania represents today one the most trustable NATO allies “an active partner, devoted to the efforts of assuring stability, security and prosperity not only in the region”, said the Minister, adding: “Even today our soldiers are committed in complex operations of fighting the terrorism and defending the peace. Shoulder to shoulder, Romanian and American soldiers show solidarity against danger, courage and sacrifice spirit. Our heroes were casualty along the American soldiers and other allied and partner nations in the operational scenes from Afghanistan, Iraq or West Balkans.”
